been collected since 1975 within the framework of the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission (HELCOM).
Presently, the database covers material since 1970 and is available online in Germany and Finland.

EcoDirectory - The Central and Eastern European EcoDirectory Project
The EcoDirectory is an enhanced online version of the database of 317 Libraries and Environmental Information
enters developed jointly in the Environmental Training Project, a 5 year set of activities funded by the US Agency for
International Development through a cooperative agreement and executed by a consortium. The World Wildlife Fund-US and the
Wladyslaw Poniecki Foundation, in collaboration with information specialists in Central and Eastern Europe who identified
the entries, published a printed version of this database in 1994.

Funding Institutions Database.
The database of Funding Sources for Environmental NGOs (nongovernmental organizations) offers information on over 100 different
funding institutions that are providing funds for different types of environmental projects conducted by NGOs in the Central
and East European (CEE) region. In addition, it provides details on those foundations offering operational support,
technical assistance, training courses and fellowships.
The database covers the 15 CEE countries in which the REC is active and also to a lesser degree, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and Russia.

A Directory of Governmental Organizations with Environmental Responsibilities for Central and Eastern Europe
Local Government Environment Database. A database of over 500 environmental contact points and representatives
at the local and municipal government level in the ten accession countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

NGO Directory for Central and Eastern Europe.
The NGO Directory lists environmental non-governmental organizations in the following countries: Albania, Bulgaria,
Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia and Yugoslavia.

The Grant Project Summaries Database describes 166 projects funded by the REC for the period 1990 - 1994.
Each summary gives a description of the project, amount awarded, products developed, and contact information.

Malaria Network, The

TRUSTNET
TRUSTNET Secretariat (Paris)
TRUSTNET is a pluralistic and interdisciplinary European network involved in the field of Risk Governance. The objective of
TRUSTNET is to contribute to the quality of the decision-making processes within the governance of hazardous activities in
Europe. TRUSTNET is assessing the emerging concepts and experiences (precautionary principle, pluralistic expertise,
decentralisation of risk management,?) as well as the innovative institutional arrangements (agencies, stakeholder
participation, citizen conferences,?) that may enhance the quality, the legitimacy and the practicability of the
decision-making processes on risk. The TRUSTNET steering committee involves representatives of major organisations
dealing with risk governance, among them European national regulatory bodies and representatives of the European
